So much easier to see out of, but not as much protection against understeering cars.

We just built a wall in front of my house, as well as having a large rock and a tree. That tree got hit a lot.

where I live they used to dump parts of it in a huge pile in a old sand pit. There was still a mountain of snow by the end of summer. I know they don't do that anymore, or at least at the same place.

they dump it in empty lots dedicated to this sort of stuff.

However, in some cases, they just make huge mounds on the property they cleared (IE, High school one year had snow up to the second floor, and people were climbing and sliding off it, it was more fun than skiing down a black diamond slalom) and parking lots have huge mounds sometimes too. I took this shot on the top of one, once they were starting to melt away, It was about 10 feet high at least.

ouch. the snowbanks always get hit at my place, 2 winters ago, my car got sideswiped by a Hyundai (only damage was the rear bumper trim, Hyundai got most of the damage, funnily enough).

They do that in the downtown area here where parking becomes an issue. The side streets they don't bother, even though we are basically down to one passable lane. You have to pull over into a driveway to let another car go by. I can't imagine what things will be like after this weekends 18"... :(

I love the snow, but it's getting silly around here. (Boston MA area)
